“Supporting the Journey Home: Growing the Community Bundle to Care for Those with Serious Illness (SJH)”

We are excited to announce that registration for the “Supporting the Journey Home: Growing the Community Bundle to Care for Those with Serious Illness (SJH)” education opportunity being offered through McMaster University in partnership with Barrie Area Native Advisory Circle- Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin. Who can attend:
✍️ Those who primarily serve and collaborate with First Nations individuals, families, and communities in Ontario
✍️ Anyone involved in the care of First Nations community members experiencing serious illnesses (Nurses, PSWs, Social Workers, Elders, Cultural Workers, Volunteers, etc.)
What can you expect:
⭐️ Indigenous knowledge and wellness practices
⭐️ Features knowledge from First Nations community resource helpers who co-designed this program
⭐️ Circle Reflections to share successful strategies and how to overcome challenges
⭐️ Case Studies depicting care in First Nations communities
⭐️ Language that is appropriate for community care providers in First Nations communities
Program commitment:
2-day in-person training
Participate in Circle Reflections and activities
Dates and times:
Day 1: Monday, August 11th from 8:00am-4:00pm
Day 2: Tuesday, August 12th from 8:00am-4:00pm
Location: The education’s location will be shared upon confirmation of your registration. It will be hosted in/around the Midland, Orillia, or Barrie area.
