Orillia National Day of Truth and Reconciliation Engagement

September 30 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

On Monday September 30th, there will be meaningful engagements, and a memorial walk in Barrie and Orillia. These engagements help grow awareness of the individual, family and community intergenerational impacts of Residential Schools.

Orange Shirt Day is a national day of remembrance, teaching and healing.

Orillia engagement – 1:30-3:30pp

Collaborative event organized by BRAWC, ONWG & Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin,
supportive partners City of Orillia and the Orillia Public Library

  • Chris Walser will MC after the Memorial walk to welcome keynote speakers, community representatives to share some meaningful thoughts about National Day of Truth and Reconciliation and the path forward.
    The Drum group Old Soul Singers will be on site to welcome everyone to the Terry Fox Circle.
