DESCRIPTION:Hello\, \nBANAC- Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin is excited to share that we have partnered with Biminaawzogin Regional Aboriginal Women’s Circle (BRAWC) to offer this Diabetes foot care screening and education event being held on Friday September 11th \, 2026 during lunch 10:00am-4:00pm. This is an in-person opportunity for regional Indigenous community members who want to learn more about diabetes prevention\, with a “healthy feet” focus through education\, foot care clinic and self care sessions. \nWhat to expect:  \n\nFoot Care assessments\nChronic Kidney Disease Screening\nFree Lunch\nFoot Care BINGO = Nutritional prizes!\nSelf Care – Reflexology appts\nGrab bags provided to attendees while quantities last\n\nOver lunch\, a presentation will be shared designed to help individuals who are living with type 2 diabetes make sustainable lifestyle changes\, focusing on healthy eating\, physical activity\, but primarily on self-management strategies to prevent or reduce further complications of diabetes (Focus: Kidney\, Eyes\, Foot Care\, Blood Glucose/A1C). \nThis workshop has been designed for both front line workers supporting those living with diabetes as well as for community members who want to learn more about proactive care. \nYou must pre-register here: https://form.jotform.com/262284851580260 to help us prepare accordingly.
