DESCRIPTION:Hello\, \nBANAC- Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin is excited to share that we have partnered with Biminaawzogin Regional Aboriginal Women’s Circle (BRAWC) to offer this Diabetes foot care screening and education event being held on Friday September 11th \, 2026 from 10:00am-4:00pm. This is an in-person opportunity for regional Indigenous community members who want to learn more about diabetes prevention\, with a “healthy feet” focus through education\, foot care screening clinic and self care sessions (reflexology). Arrive early to secure your spot! \nLocation: Sports Complex Rotary Place – \n2nd Floor in the Tournament Room\nAt 100 University Ave\, Orillia ON\nElevator access to the 2nd floor. \nTime: 10:00am-4:00pm \nWhat to expect: \n\nFoot Care assessments\nChronic Kidney Disease Screening\nFree Lunch\nLearn to make a mini moccasin (in the AM)\nFoot Care BINGO = Nutritional prizes! (in the afternoon)\nSelf Care – Reflexology appts\nGrab bags provided to attendees while quantities last\n\nOver lunch\, a presentation will be shared designed to help individuals who are living with type 2 diabetes make sustainable lifestyle changes\, focusing on self-management strategies to prevent or reduce further complications of diabetes (Focus: Kidney\, Eyes\, Foot Care\, Blood Glucose/A1C). \nThe lunch and learn will be suitable for both front-line workers supporting those living with diabetes as well as for community members who want to learn more about proactive care. \nYou must pre-register here: https://form.jotform.com/262284851580260 to help us prepare accordingly.\nPlease note\, signs up for providers will occur on site. \nWe will provide event updates here: www.mamaway.ca/events – select the date to find event details! \nFeel free to share this registration link with those who would benefit from attending this foot care screening event. \nThank you \nWe hope to see you there!
