SUMMARY:Cornerstones of Prevention (Diabetes Education)
DESCRIPTION:Good day\, \nBANAC- Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin is excited to share that we have partnered with the Indigenous Diabetes Health Circle (IDHC) to offer this Diabetes screening education virtual session being held on Thursday\, November 26\, 2026 after lunch 1:00-2:00pm. This is a virtual opportunity to learn more about diabetes prevention\, “Cornerstones of prevention”. \nA presentation designed to help individuals who are living with type 2 diabetes make sustainable lifestyle changes\, focusing on healthy eating\, physical activity\, but primarily on self-management strategies to prevent or reduce further complications of diabetes. Karli Dupuis\, our Mamaway Diabetes Educator/RN will be co-facilitating with Lindsey Cosh from IDHC to share information about the importance of diabetes screening and how we can take our own health in our hands by taking part in these annual screening practices. DESCRIPTION:Monthly virtual Moon Lodge \nA safe place for women to come together to share their life experiences and embrace the teachings offered by Grandmother Renee and the knowledge shared by Sarah Connors\, Naturopath & Indigenous Doula. And it will continue to occur the Third Tuesday of every month\, 1-3pm. \nWe will be aligning our Moon Teachings with our endocrine system (how the body relates to nature). What this means is\, we will focus on different areas of the body each month with focus on caring for one’s self and as always Sarah will share her knowledge to use Traditional Medicines to support that par to the body.
