It was expressed during our Working Together- Wiijinokiiwag pilot program reviews that the opportunity to share culture for understanding was a crucial step forward to grow& promote confident leaders in our goals of allyship! We are so very excited to be bringing you all the opportunity to share in some of our Anishinaabe Oral Teachings during this Winter Journey of Reflection. As Indigenous Peoples we take this sacred Winter Season to learn\, to grow\, reflect and share knowledge with the communities around us! This 1.5 Day Virtual Program is designed to bring awareness to life promotion\, awareness\, education and collaboration that supports mainstream organizations to grow Indigenous Cultural Safety Practices. DESCRIPTION:It is our mission in the Working Together- Wiijinokiiwag program to create and empower change\, awareness and space for all peoples to shine on their path of humanness! In light of all the truths that are coming to the worlds attention\, we need to ensure that Indigenous voices are heard! Not only around our peoples stories\, losses\, learnings and celebrations… but to ensure that the hard work of our ancestors is carried forward in that “good way” for all to embrace! \nIt was expressed inside of our Working Together- Wiijinokiiwag  Program that collaborations of unity & strength are desired… it was identified\, that there is a gap on how we get there as many are afraid to further deepen the pain being felt. “Fear is a silent partner” that holds us bound to the history of the past we are longing to change! On both sides of this discovery we wrestle with the next steps forward… at Working Together- Wiijinokiiwag we say” take the step”\, then do it again\, and together\, we will get to the place were looking for exactly how creator intended\, as one! \nFor all of these reasons\, we give you Voices of Change… filled with magical wisdom\, strength\, courage\, pain and celebrations… we promise their will be teachings for all to explore. What will be left on the community table is “what will you do” with the information you seek? \nInside this very special series we will have many conversations around all of the topics of life. We will showcase the courage\, resilience and glory of our Indigenous brothers and sisters and we will invite all peoples to lean in and rise with us all as we create a world together that fits us all in equality\, safety\, celebration and strength! \nThis will be an 8- Part Speaker Series found exclusively on social media and it all kicks off on Jan 27th- 2022! \n8 Different Speakers \n8 Different Views \n8 Different Stories \n8 Different Opportunities \nOne goal…  Connection! \n  \n

SUMMARY:Working Together- Wiijinokiiwag Day One- Winter Program
DESCRIPTION:Working Together – Wiijinokiiwag Collaboration Project was created and released in September 2021 to mainstream organizations who support and empower Indigenous Peoples within their organizations. This 1.5 Day Virtual Program is designed to bring awareness to life promotion\, awareness\, education and collaboration that supports mainstream organizations to grow Indigenous Cultural Safety Practices. We focus on empowering\, building and growing connections & resources to ensure that we have safer environments for everyone. \nThis collaboration project is run in Seasonal Session from 9:15 am- 4:15 pm Day One and from 9:15 am- 12:15 noon Day Two with Expansion Projects\, Community Collaboration Circles and Teaching Events offered additionally throughout the year to further the work of creating strong relationships of support between organization and services for the Indigenous Peoples in our community. \nHeather McIntyre is the Project Coordinator and Programs Facilitation Lead and can be contacted at: hmcintyre@banac.on.ca to enquire about participating in this ground breaking community programming! \nPlease fill out the Alchemer Program survey link below! \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:As a continued effort to build the bridges of connection within our mainstream communities. It was expressed during our Working Together- Wiijinokiiwag pilot program reviews that the opportunity to share culture for understanding was a crucial step forward to grow& promote confident leaders in our goals of allyship! We are so very excited to be bringing you all the opportunity to share in some of our Anishinaabe Oral Teachings during this Winter Journey of Reflection. As Indigenous Peoples we take this sacred Winter Season to learn\, to grow\, reflect and share knowledge with the communities around us! Winter is all about Storytelling and we would like to invite you to join us as we explore the adventures of our featured guests to learn\, connect and grow together! \nWe will be showcasing four different guest Storytellers.
