Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin has an elder to work one on one with our clients and a traditional healing coordinator to assist clients with connecting to guest healers who visit our Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin clinics regularly.
Our Primary Care Team will provide comprehensive health care for the individual and family across the life cycle.
Our Nurse Practitioners and Nurses can provide all publicly funded vaccines based on the immunizations schedule, as well as referrals to travel clinic’s for specialized vaccines.
Our Nurse Practitioners can provide pre-natal visits up to 20 weeks when services will be referred for continued care and delivery to an obstetrician, a family physician trained in obstetrical care or a midwife of the woman’s choice. Post-natal and well-baby visits will resume with the Nurse Practitioner following delivery.
Take charge of your health by managing or preventing diabetes with a combination of healthy living resources, tools and supports provided by the primary care team and health promoter. Nurse Practitioners can assist in managing diabetes by monitoring A1C levels, glucose levels and providing ongoing support with medication management, if required.
Provision of chronic disease prevention and management services for illnesses including diabetes, high blood pressure, and respiratory conditions for example.
We encourage you to participate in our information sessions to learn more about the importance of cancer screening and preventative measures. Our Nurse practitioners can provide education and order cancer screenings according to your health history and / or the Cancer Care Ontario’s recommended screening schedule.
Visit the Registered Nurse for professional footcare services. Footcare services are available for those living with diabetes as well as those who may require footcare services due to health-related issues and other complications.
Partner with our experienced counsellors to set and achieve your goals in a culturally supportive and grounded way. Mamaway Wiikdokdaadwin has a team of counsellors to meet your individual needs.
Sit one on one with one of our Health Promotors to learn how to improve health and wellness with a focus on indigenous knowledge or join an exciting workshop in collaboration with our community partners including land-based activities, cooking groups, educational sessions and much more.
Speak with Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin registered nurses or a nurse practitioner regarding your sexual health to access contraception and to obtain information regarding sexually transmitted infections; screening, treatment and education.
