DESCRIPTION:Good day!\n\n\n\nWe are excited to announce that registration for the “Supporting the Journey Home: Growing the Community Bundle to Care for Those with Serious Illness (SJH)” education opportunity being offered through McMaster University in partnership with Barrie Area Native Advisory Circle- Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin. Please see more information below about this opportunity and how to register.\n\n\n\nWho can attend:\n Those who primarily serve and collaborate with First Nations individuals\, families\, and communities in Ontario\n Anyone involved in the care of First Nations community members experiencing serious illnesses (Nurses\, PSWs\, Social Workers\, Elders\, Cultural Workers\, Volunteers\, etc.)\n\n\n\nWhat can you expect:\n Indigenous knowledge and wellness practices\n Features knowledge from First Nations community resource helpers who co-designed this program\n Circle Reflections to share successful strategies and how to overcome challenges\n Case Studies depicting care in First Nations communities\n Language that is appropriate for community care providers in First Nations communities\n\n\n\nProgram commitment:\n2-day in-person training\nParticipate in Circle Reflections and activities\n\n\nDates and times:\nDay 1: Monday\, August 11th from 8:00am-4:00pm\nDay 2: Tuesday\, August 12th from 8:00am-4:00pm\n\n\n\n Registration Link: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx…\n\n\nLocation: The education’s location will be shared upon confirmation of your registration. Esstin provides spiritual consultation and remedies to Native Health Care Centers in northern Ontario. \nAs Medicine Practitioner\, Esstin provides plant-based remedies and instruction. As a Healer\, Esstin works with spiritual energies and is influenced by ceremonial practices and Anishinaabe Elders and teachers. Throughout her 30 years of study and experience\, Esstin developed a “Anishinaabe Wisdom Healing\,” workshop series.
