DESCRIPTION:Join Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin Life Promoters Courtney Thomas and Bawd Elliott for Building Our Bundles: Uplifting Your Spirit 8-week Series! \nThis series will provide a safe and supportive space to connect with other community members and explore a range of topics related to cultural teachings and building your own bundle. By participating in the program\, it will provide you with the tools and resources you need to help you live a good life! \nHere is the breakdown of the 8-week Series and what we will be doing each week: \n\nWeek 1: What’s in Your Bundle?: What is a bundle? Bundle teachings.\n\n\nWeek 2: Four Sacred Medicines: Teachings about the four sacred medicines and harvesting.\n\n\nWeek 3: Eagle Feather Teachings: Eagle feather dressing and teachings.\n\n\nWeek 4: The Moccasin We Wear: Share various style of moccasins from different nations around Turtle Island.\n\n\nWeek 5: Shaker: What are shakers for?\n\n\nWeek 6: Feast Bundle: Making a feast bundle.\n\n\nWeek 7: Ribbon Skirt/Shirt Teachings: Why do we wear ribbon skirts and ribbon skirts? What are your colors?\n\n\nWeek 8: Feast Your Bundles: Potluck Feast! DESCRIPTION:Good day!\n\n\n\nStarting March 3rd\, 2025\n\n\n\nThis four-week program is designed to support indigenous and non indigenous participants in recovery from substance use helping to increase self-awareness\, emotional resilience\, and practical coping skills.\n\n\n\nThe information covered will help participants to gain tools to manage cravings\, process emotions\, and reach their substance use goals.\n\n\n\nKey topics covered include:\n– Wellness & Self-Awareness: Explore the four domains of wellness: physical\, mental\, spiritual\, and emotional.\n– CBT & Thought Patterns: Learn how thoughts\, feelings\, and behaviors influence substance use; recognize maladaptive thinking and practice positive self-talk.\n– DBT Skills for Recovery: Develop mindfulness\, distress tolerance\, interpersonal effectiveness\, and emotional regulation to manage cravings and emotional triggers.\n– Empathy\, Self-Compassion & Forgiveness: Cultivate kindness toward yourself and others while letting go of past mistakes.\n– Resilience & Emotional Processing: Strengthen the ability to navigate stress\, fully experience emotions\, and reframe negative narratives.\n– Relapse Prevention & Future Planning: Identify community resources\, support systems\, and coping strategies to maintain long-term sobriety.\n\n\n\nBy the end of the program\, participants will have a personalized recovery plan with clear goals and practical tools to help them to sustain their progress and confidently face future challenges.\n\n\n\nTo register for this program\, contact our Central Registration at: 705-721-9554\n\n\n\nIf you have any questions\, please email Lorie at lroberts@banac.on.ca
